Two terrorists killed in Kulgam district of J&K

In Jammu and Kashmir, two terrorists were killed in an encounter with security forces in Kulgam district early this morning. 

Defence spokesperson Lt Col Rajesh Kalia said, the encounter broke out after security forces launched a cordon and search operation at Gopalpora on specific information about the movement of terrorists in the area.

NIA summons Kashmiri separatist leader's son Nayeem Zafar Geelani to appear before it in terror funding case

National Investigation Agency (NIA) has summoned Kashmiri separatist leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani's elder son Nayeem Zafar Geelani to appear before it at its headquarters in New Delhi today. He has been summoned in connection with the probe into the terror funding case in Kashmir Valley. Officials of NIA also said, that Naseem Geelani, the second son of Syed Ali Shah Geelani, has also been summoned to appear before it on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, a Hurriyat spokesman said, Nayeem has been admitted to Sher-I-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences, Srinagar. The spokesman said, he has been kept in the ICU after he complained of chest pain yesterday.

NIA conducted raids at two places belonging to a close aide of Syed Ali Shah Geelani in Jammu yesterday. Officials said, the NIA raided the office and residence of a lawyer amid allegations about his close proximity with Geelani.

Indian Army Patrol Fired In J&k Shopian

Terrorists opened fire at a patrolling party of the Indian Army in Shopian’s Chak Matribugh area. The 62 RR Army patrol was returning from a cordon and search operation when it was fired upon by terrorists.

An army patrol party was fired upon by militants at Mantribugh in Shopian. However, there was no casualty," the Army official told PTI.

Earlier on Friday, the Indian Army foiled an infiltration bid along the Line of Control (LoC) in Gurez sector of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district and killed three terrorists.A Defense spokesperson said the army troops flaked doubtfull movement forth the LoC and repel the terrorists, leading to a gun battle.

ED arrests Kashmiri separatist leader Shabir Shah in money laundering case

In Jammu & Kashmir, separatist leader Shabir Shah has been arrested last night by the Enforcement Directorate in connection with money laundering case against him for terrorism financing. Sources said Shah was arrested from his residence in Srinagar and lodged at Humhama Police station who is expected to be shifted to Delhi today. He may be produced in a court in Delhi.


Rajouri: Soldier Killed In Ceasefire Violation

Pakistani Army had initiated unprovoked firing on Indian army posts in Sunderbani sector at around 6 pm. One soldier was killed and another injured as Pakistani troops violated the ceasefire agreement in Jammu’s Rajouri district in Friday evening.

A Jammu based prolocutor said the Pakistani Army had initiated unprovoked firing on Indian Army posts in Sunderbani sector ataound 6 pm. He said,”The Indian Army retaliated strongly and effectively”.
