The new facility has been designed to support interactive, immersive and collaborative learning while integrating advanced digital technologies into the classroom.</span></p>

<p dir="ltr">The new Lecture Theatre is equipped with advanced soundproofing, integrated audiovisual systems, premium Sennheiser audio systems, high-definition projection facilities, dedicated servers and digital podiums. It is interconnected with the institution&#8217;s existing lecture theatre through a live relay system, enabling lectures and academic sessions to be broadcast simultaneously across both spaces. Together, the two lecture theatres can accommodate up to 140 students, providing a modern learning environment for lectures, seminars, workshops, academic discussions and other educational engagements.</p>

<p><b>Hyderabad, July 21, 2026:</b> Neurological disorders have emerged as the <b>leading cause of disability worldwide</b>, with <b>more than 3.4 billion people, </b>over 40% of the global population, living with conditions affecting the brain, spinal cord and nervous system, according to the <b>World Health Organization (WHO)</b>. These disorders are also responsible for <b>over 11 million deaths annually</b>, making neurological diseases one of the world&#8217;s fastest-growing public health challenges.</p>
<p>Stroke remains one of the biggest contributors to this burden. India records an estimated <b>1.25 million new stroke cases every year</b>, with studies showing a significant rise over the past three decades. Increasing rates of hypertension, diabetes, obesity, tobacco use, stress, poor sleep, unhealthy lifestyles and an ageing population are contributing to the growing burden of neurological disorders across the country.<br />
On the occasion of <b>World Brain Day</b>, observed globally with the theme <b>&#8220;Brain Health: Access for All,&#8221;</b> specialists at <b>CARE Hospitals</b> called for greater public awareness, saying that while treatment for neurological disorders has advanced significantly, many patients continue to lose valuable treatment time because they fail to recognise the early warning signs or delay reaching hospitals equipped with advanced neurological care.</p>
<p>According to the Neuro specialists, one of the biggest challenges is that patients often seek medical attention only after the condition becomes severe. Many arrive at emergency departments after developing paralysis, loss of consciousness, repeated seizures, severe speech difficulty or sudden vision loss, by which time critical treatment opportunities may already have been missed. In several cases, patients first visit nearby clinics or smaller healthcare facilities, losing precious time before being referred to comprehensive neuroscience centres capable of providing advanced stroke care, emergency neurosurgery and specialised neurological treatment. Such delays can significantly increase the risk of permanent disability, prolonged rehabilitation and even death.</p>
<p><b>Dr. S K Jaiswal, Clinical Director and HOD &#8211; Neurology, CARE Hospitals, Banjara Hills, Hyderabad</b>, said the biggest hurdle in neurological emergencies is delayed recognition of symptoms. <i>&#8220;We are increasingly seeing younger patients with stroke and other neurological disorders. Unfortunately, many people ignore persistent headaches, sudden weakness, numbness, slurred speech, unexplained seizures, dizziness or vision changes, assuming they are caused by stress or fatigue. One of the biggest challenges we face is that patients often reach us only after paralysis has developed or when they are unable to speak, walk or remain conscious. Others lose valuable time moving between multiple healthcare facilities before reaching a comprehensive neuroscience centre. In neurological emergencies, particularly stroke, every minute matters because delays can permanently damage the brain.&#8221;</i></p>
<p><b>Dr. Jaiswal</b> added that controlling blood pressure, diabetes and cholesterol, exercising regularly, maintaining a healthy diet, getting adequate sleep, managing stress, avoiding tobacco and limiting alcohol remain the most effective ways to reduce the risk of stroke and several neurological disorders.</p>
<p>Highlighting advances in treatment, <b>Dr. Mohammed Imran, Senior Consultant Neuro &amp; Spine Surgeon, CARE Hospitals</b>, <b>Nampally, Hyderabad</b> said remarkable progress in neuroscience has significantly improved outcomes for patients with complex brain disorders. <i>&#8220;Today, advanced MRI imaging, neuronavigation systems, operating microscopes, minimally invasive neurosurgical techniques and specialised neurocritical care have transformed the treatment of brain tumours, traumatic brain injuries, hydrocephalus and several other neurological conditions. Many disorders that were once considered extremely difficult to treat can now be managed with greater precision, safety and improved recovery. However, technology can only save lives when patients reach the right facility without delay.&#8221;</i></p>
<p>Emphasising the urgency of stroke treatment, <b>Dr. Imran</b> said, <i>&#8220;Nearly </i><b><i>1.9 million brain cells are lost every minute</i></b><i> during an untreated stroke. The first </i><b><i>4.5 hours</i></b><i>, often called the &#8216;golden window&#8217;, are critical because timely treatment can prevent permanent disability and save lives. Reaching a comprehensive stroke-ready hospital as early as possible can make the difference between complete recovery and lifelong disability.&#8221;</i><br />
Doctors advised the public to seek immediate medical attention if they experience any of the following warning signs:</p>
<ul>
<li>Sudden weakness or numbness of the face, arm or leg, especially on one side</li>
<li>Difficulty speaking or understanding speech</li>
<li>Sudden loss of vision or double vision</li>
<li>A severe, sudden headache unlike previous headaches</li>
<li>Loss of balance or difficulty walking</li>
<li>Unexplained seizures</li>
<li>Persistent headaches lasting several days or weeks, particularly when associated with vomiting or visual disturbances</li>
<li>Sudden confusion or unexplained memory changes</li>
</ul>
<p>Doctors also stressed that brain health begins with everyday choices. Regular physical activity, a balanced diet, quality sleep, stress management, periodic health check-ups and effective control of hypertension, diabetes and cholesterol can substantially reduce the risk of many neurological disorders.</p>
<p>On <b>World Brain Day</b>, CARE Hospitals urged people to give brain health the same priority as heart health. While advances in neurology and neurosurgery have transformed the treatment of neurological diseases, specialists emphasised that <b>the greatest opportunity to reduce disability lies in recognising symptoms early, reaching an advanced neuroscience centre without delay and ensuring timely access to specialised care</b>. They said improving public awareness and access to neurological services remains essential to reducing the growing burden of brain disorders in India.</p>

<p><b>Bengaluru, July 21, 2026:</b> Fortis Hospital Bannerghatta Road has set another global benchmark in clinical excellence by successfully performing the world&#8217;s first reported combined robot-assisted heart bypass surgery, robot-assisted groin hernia repair, and circumcision under a single anaesthesia on an 81-year-old patient. The highly complex, multidisciplinary surgeries enabled the elderly patient to avoid three separate surgeries, significantly reducing surgical risk, prolonged hospital stay, exposure to infection and recovery time. The surgeries were performed by a multi-disciplinary team of doctors <b>including Dr. Sudarshan G T</b>, <b>Director – MICS &amp; Robotic Cardiac Surgery, Dr. Saurabh Mishra</b>, <b>Director – GI, Minimal Access &amp; Bariatric Surgery</b> and<b> Dr. Mahendra Jain, Consultant – Urology, </b>demonstrating excellence in multidisciplinary collaboration and advanced robotic surgical expertise.</p>
<p>The 81-year-old patient from Mysore initially presented to Fortis Bannerghatta Road with a painful groin hernia requiring surgical intervention. However, during the pre-operative evaluation, he complained of mild chest pain and breathlessness. Further diagnostic testing revealed severe blockages in three major coronary arteries requiring an urgent coronary artery bypass graft (CABG). Additionally, the patient was diagnosed with <b>phimosis,</b> a urological condition causing painful urination and increasing the risk of recurrent urinary tract infections.</p>
<p>Considering the patient&#8217;s advanced age and the need for three separate surgical conditions, performing individual procedures would have required multiple rounds of anesthesia, prolonged recovery, and increased surgical risk. Following detailed multidisciplinary discussions and after obtaining informed consent from the patient and his family, the medical team decided to perform all three surgeries during a single operative session using a robot-assisted approach wherever clinically appropriate.</p>

This was immediately followed by a robotic groin hernia repair performed by Dr. Saurabh Mishra, lasting approximately <b>one hour</b>. Finally, Dr. Mahendra Jain performed a circumcision with frenuloplasty (a minor corrective procedure) in approximately <b>30 minutes</b> to permanently treat the phimosis. All three procedures were successfully completed under a single anaesthesia without complications<b>. </b>Notably, the patient did not require any blood transfusion during or after the surgery<b>. </b>Following<b> </b>the surgery, the patient was closely monitored in the ICU for 12 hours and was discharged in a stable condition after three days and was able to return to his regular daily activities within two weeks.</p>
<p>Giving details of the case<b>, Dr. Sudarshan G T, Director – MICS &amp; Robotic Cardiac Surgery, Fortis Hospital, Bannerghatta Road</b> said,<i> “Performing three complex surgeries under single anaesthesia allowed us to avoid repeated surgeries while reducing the overall physiological stress on the patient. This first reported case demonstrates how advanced robotic technology and multidisciplinary expertise can safely expand the boundaries of minimally invasive cardiac surgery and significantly improve outcomes for patients with multiple co-existing surgical conditions.&#8221;</i></p>
<p><b>Dr. Saurabh Mishra, Director–GI, Minimal Access &amp; Bariatric Surgery, Fortis Hospital, Bannerghatta Road,</b> said,<i> “. Instead of subjecting an elderly patient to three separate surgeries and multiple recoveries, we were able to address all the surgical conditions during one operative session. Robotic surgery offers enhanced precision, smaller incisions, reduced blood loss, less postoperative pain, faster recovery, and shorter hospital stays.</i></p>

<p dir="ltr">Artificial intelligence is rapidly transforming modern healthcare, combining technologies that improve diagnosis, treatment, research, and healthcare operations. From detecting diseases in medical scans to streamlining hospital workflows, AI is increasingly helping clinicians make faster and more data-driven decisions. While once viewed as a futuristic concept, many AI-powered tools are already becoming part of everyday medical practice.</p>
<p dir="ltr">Modern AI in medicine combines technologies such as machine learning, computer vision, natural language processing, and generative AI to support both clinical care and healthcare operations. In India, this shift toward preventive and digital healthcare is accelerating rapidly. According to an IMARC Group report, India’s AI healthcare market was valued at USD 435.7 million in 2025 and is projected to reach USD 4.77 billion by 2034.</p>
<p dir="ltr">India’s healthcare ecosystem is also undergoing rapid digital transformation. A recent Grand View Research industry report on India’s digital health market highlights growing adoption of telehealth platforms, AI-assisted diagnostics, remote patient monitoring and digital health infrastructure across the country. As healthcare systems become increasingly technology-enabled, future physicians will need to develop clinical expertise alongside the ability to work with data-driven healthcare tools and digital care ecosystems.</p>
<p dir="ltr"><strong>AI in medical imaging and diagnostics</strong></p>
<p dir="ltr">One of the clearest examples of AI’s success in healthcare has emerged in medical imaging. AI-powered computer vision systems are increasingly being used to help clinicians detect abnormalities in radiology scans with greater speed and accuracy. Breast cancer screening has become one of the most studied use cases.</p>
<p dir="ltr">A large India-led study involving over 100,000 women assessed the use of an AI-based breast cancer screening tool for population-level screening and reported that AI-supported screening could improve early cancer detection while overcoming infrastructure and specialist shortages in large-scale public health settings.</p>
<p dir="ltr">These imaging tools have seen relatively smoother adoption because they are designed for narrow, measurable tasks. Their performance can be validated against standardized clinical benchmarks such as sensitivity, specificity, and detection rates. Importantly, these systems are intended to support physicians rather than replace them, functioning as a second layer of review that helps reduce workload while improving diagnostic confidence.</p>
<p dir="ltr"><strong>Personalized medicine and the role of AI</strong></p>
<p dir="ltr">Another major area of interest has been personalized medicine, where treatments are tailored to an individual’s genetic profile. Since the Human Genome Project in the 1990s, researchers have hoped that advances in genomics and computational medicine would enable highly individualized therapies. While significant progress has been made, especially in oncology biomarker testing, many AI-driven applications in drug discovery and precision medicine still remain at the research or pre-clinical stage.</p>
<p dir="ltr">AI has nevertheless accelerated parts of the research process. Tools such as protein-structure prediction models and machine learning systems are helping researchers identify potential drug targets more efficiently than before. However, translating computational discoveries into approved clinical therapies still requires years of testing, validation, and regulatory review. As a result, personalized medicine continues to evolve gradually rather than transforming healthcare overnight.</p>
<p dir="ltr"><strong>Generative AI in healthcare</strong></p>
<p dir="ltr">Generative AI has emerged as one of the most discussed technologies in medicine over the last few years. Much of its real-world adoption currently remains concentrated around administrative and operational workflows rather than direct clinical decision-making. AI tools are increasingly being used for functions such as claims coding, prior-authorization reviews, clinical documentation, and patient record summarization, helping healthcare systems improve efficiency and reduce administrative burden.</p>
<p dir="ltr">Although generative AI systems can process medical information and respond effectively to standardized medical questions, patient care still depends heavily on contextual understanding, ethical judgment, communication, and decision-making in uncertain situations. Concerns around transparency and explainability also continue to limit AI’s role in high-stakes clinical environments. As a result, AI is unlikely to replace physicians in critical diagnostic or therapeutic decisions in the near future. Instead, it is expected to remain a supportive tool that enhances efficiency while clinicians retain final responsibility for patient care.</p>
<p dir="ltr"><strong>The future of healthcare lies in human-AI collaboration</strong></p>
<p dir="ltr">The future of healthcare is unlikely to involve AI replacing doctors entirely. Instead, AI is expected to increasingly manage repetitive, structured, and data-heavy tasks, while clinicians continue to lead areas requiring empathy, communication, contextual reasoning, and complex judgment.</p>
<p dir="ltr">Core clinical skills such as patient interaction, history-taking, physical examination, and ethical decision-making will remain central to medical practice. At the same time, healthcare professionals will increasingly need to understand the strengths and limitations of AI tools, critically evaluate AI-generated outputs, and identify potential errors or bias.</p>
<p dir="ltr">As healthcare continues to evolve, physicians who can effectively combine clinical expertise with technological understanding will likely be best positioned to lead the next generation of patient care.</p>

<p><b>Nashik, July 07: </b>In a remarkable journey spanning continents and specialties, HCG Manavata Cancer Centre (HCGMCC) Nashik, successfully treated 62 year old Mr Bosco Daniel, a Dubai based hotelier, for prostate cancer using advanced robotic assisted surgery. What began as a sudden cardiac emergency in India quickly became a life altering moment when routine investigations revealed an incidental diagnosis of prostate cancer. After exploring treatment options across leading metros, Bosco chose Nashik, and never looked back. When he arrived in India for an angioplasty to address his cardiac condition, a subsequent evaluation during hospitalization uncovered early stage prostate cancer. This presented a clinical dilemma &#8211; after angioplasty, surgery cannot be performed for at least six months due to the high risk of stent thrombosis. Regarding his health, there were two challenges viz. how to address his prostate cancer without compromising his heart health. We used hormone therapy for 3 to 6 months, which kept the cancer in check while his cardiac condition stabilised. Once the safe window arrived, we proceeded with robotic assisted surgery. This is the importance of individualized treatment planning, where every decision is made in the patient’s best interest rather than following a one-size-fits-all approach. Bosco recovered exceptionally well and returned to his country within a fortnight,” says Prof Dr Raj Nagarkar, Chief of Surgical Oncology &amp; Robotic Services and Managing Director, KIMS Manavata Hospitals, HCG Manavata Cancer Centre and Six Sigma, Nashik.</p>
<p>The minimally invasive robotic procedure was completed successfully, allowing the patient to recover remarkably quickly. He was able to walk and resume basic activities within just two days, was discharged after three days in hospital, and returned to Dubai within two weeks. Following removal of the urinary catheter a week later, he regained complete bladder control and, importantly, his final histopathology report confirmed that no further treatment such as radiation therapy was required.</p>
<p>“One of the biggest concerns among men diagnosed with prostate cancer is the fear of losing urinary control after surgery. Thanks to advances in robotic assisted surgery and growing surgical expertise, these risks have reduced significantly. Robotic surgery offers unmatched precision, enabling better preservation of vital nerves and structures, resulting in faster recovery, minimal pain, shorter hospital stay and excellent functional outcomes. In Mr Bosco’s case, he regained complete bladder control soon after catheter removal and was able to return to his normal life without requiring any additional treatment. Cases like these reinforce why robotic surgery has become one of the preferred treatment options for appropriately selected patients with localized prostate cancer,” concludes Dr Nagarkar.</p>

The 15-day delay in seeking treatment led to significant inflammation and tissue growth around the foreign body, turning what is usually a standard removal procedure into a highly complex, two-hour emergency surgery.</p>

Foreign body aspiration is one of the leading causes of respiratory emergencies in young children, where delayed diagnosis can quickly turn fatal.</p>
<p>The toddler was brought to Fortis Hospital Yeshwanthpur with persistent fever, severe cough, breathlessness, and worsening respiratory distress. Initially, the symptoms were mistaken for routine respiratory infection, the parents initially sought treatment at multiple local hospitals without improvement. Upon detailed clinical evaluation at Fortis, including a chest X-ray and CT scan, doctors discovered a foreign body lodged in the airway, causing overinflation of one lung. Further evaluation confirmed that the child had accidentally inhaled a peanut shell while eating nearly 2 weeks prior.</p>
<p>Given the extremely narrow airway of a two-year-old, the medical team operated with exceptional precision to extract the shell without tearing the lung or airway tissue. Following the successful extraction, the child was closely monitored on ventilatory support overnight in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). He showed steady recovery, as breathing normally and was discharged in stable condition after four days.</p>
<p>Giving details of the case<b>, Dr. Vivek Gundappa,</b> <b>Clinical Lead – Interventional Pulmonology, Fortis Hospital, Yeshwanthpur</b> said, <i>“Foreign body aspiration is a medical emergency that can rapidly become life-threatening, especially in young children whose airways are extremely small. In this case, the delayed presentation significantly increased the complexity of the procedure, as the peanut shell had become tightly embedded and surrounded by inflamed tissue. The removal required extraordinary precision, patience, and seamless coordination by our multidisciplinary team. Timely diagnosis and intervention played a crucial role in ensuring a successful outcome while preventing potentially serious complications.”</i><b> </b></p>

<p>Advances in cancer care have enabled more people than ever to survive their diagnosis. As a result, the focus of oncology is expanding beyond survival alone to an equally important question: how well are patients able to live after treatment?</p>
<p>The answer lies not only in curing the disease but also in helping survivors rebuild their physical strength, emotional resilience, and sense of normalcy. Rehabilitation has therefore become a critical part of modern cancer care, supporting patients as they regain independence, restore confidence, and improve their overall quality of life.</p>
<p><strong>The Lasting Physical Impact of Cancer Treatment</strong></p>
<p>Cancer affects far more than the tumour itself. The disease and its treatment can leave lasting effects on nearly every aspect of physical health.</p>
<p>Surgery may affect mobility and function through muscle and nerve damage. Chemotherapy can cause fatigue, neuropathy, and cognitive changes, while radiation therapy may lead to tissue stiffness, pain, and reduced flexibility. Hormonal treatments and long-term steroid use can contribute to bone loss, weight changes, and declining muscle strength.</p>
<p>As a result, many survivors continue to face significant physical challenges long after treatment has ended.</p>
<p>Among the most common concerns is cancer-related fatigue, a persistent exhaustion that often does not improve with rest. <p>Some patients develop lymphedema following lymph node removal or radiation, resulting in chronic swelling and discomfort. Others experience cognitive difficulties, commonly known as “chemo brain,” characterized by memory lapses, difficulty concentrating, and slower information processing. Sexual health concerns, body image changes, and incontinence may further affect physical and emotional well-being.</p>
<p>Without proper rehabilitation, many survivors gradually adapt to reduced mobility and lower levels of activity, increasing the risk of long-term disability and loss of independence.</p>
<p><strong>Why Recovery Requires Movement</strong></p>
<p>For years, patients were advised to rest extensively following cancer treatment. While adequate rest remains important, research now shows that prolonged inactivity can worsen fatigue, accelerate muscle loss, reduce bone density, and negatively affect cardiovascular and mental health.</p>
<p>Today, exercise is recognized as a critical part of cancer recovery.</p>
<p>Regular physical activity has been shown to improve energy levels, rebuild muscle strength, enhance mobility, reduce treatment-related side effects, and improve overall quality of life. Structured exercise programs can significantly reduce fatigue while helping patients regain confidence in their physical abilities.</p>
<p>Importantly, rehabilitation is not about athletic performance. It is about restoring function—being able to return to work, care for family members, pursue hobbies, travel comfortably, and participate fully in daily life.</p>
<p>A multidisciplinary rehabilitation approach may include physiotherapy to improve mobility and manage lymphedema, occupational therapy to support daily functioning, speech and swallowing therapy for head and neck cancer survivors, and specialized cardiac rehabilitation for individuals affected by treatment-related heart complications.</p>
<p><strong>The Emotional Recovery That Often Goes Unnoticed</strong></p>
<p>While physical healing receives considerable attention, emotional recovery is often less visible but equally important.</p>
<p>Many survivors describe a sense of uncertainty once treatment ends. During active treatment, appointments, scans, and medical teams provide structure and reassurance. When those routines disappear, patients may suddenly find themselves confronting fears they had little time to process.</p>
<p>Anxiety surrounding follow-up scans and recurrence is common. Many survivors experience ongoing worry about whether the cancer will return. Feelings of survivor&#8217;s guilt, grief over physical changes, and concerns about the future can also have a profound impact on mental health.</p>
<p>Relationships may be strained as patients and caregivers adjust to new realities. Changes in appearance, sexual health, and self-image can affect confidence and intimacy. Financial pressures and employment challenges may add further stress during recovery.</p>
<p>These experiences highlight the need for emotional rehabilitation as a routine part of survivorship care.</p>
<p><strong>The Importance of Psychological Support</strong></p>
<p>Seeking emotional support after cancer is not a sign of weakness it is an essential part of healing.</p>
<p>Specialized psycho-oncology services can help patients navigate anxiety, depression, trauma, and uncertainty. Counselling and cognitive behavioral therapy provide practical strategies for managing fear and building resilience.</p>
<p>Support groups also play a valuable role by connecting survivors with others who understand the unique challenges of life after cancer. Sharing experiences often reduces feelings of isolation and fosters a sense of community.</p>
<p>Mindfulness practices, meditation, breathing exercises, and other evidence-based stress-management techniques can improve emotional well-being, reduce stress, and promote better sleep. Many cancer centres now incorporate these approaches into comprehensive survivorship programs.</p>
<p>For some survivors, recovery also involves discovering a renewed sense of purpose through advocacy, volunteering, creative pursuits, or community engagement. These experiences can contribute to what experts describe as post-traumatic growth, a positive psychological transformation that may emerge after a life-altering experience.</p>
<p><strong>Closing the Rehabilitation Gap</strong></p>
<p>Despite growing recognition of its benefits, rehabilitation remains underutilized in cancer care.</p>
<p>Clinical attention is often focused on treating the disease itself, while the long-term physical and emotional consequences of treatment receive less emphasis. Many patients are unaware that rehabilitation services exist or hesitate to seek help because they feel they should simply be grateful to have completed treatment.</p>

<p>For healthcare providers, this means integrating rehabilitation into routine cancer care and measuring success not only through survival statistics but also through functional outcomes and patient well-being.</p>
<p>For patients, it means recognizing that recovery is a gradual process that often requires support long after treatment ends. Asking for rehabilitation services, counselling, nutritional guidance, or survivorship planning should be viewed as a natural part of care.</p>
<p>For families and caregivers, it means understanding that the end of treatment does not automatically mark the end of recovery. Ongoing encouragement, patience, and support remain essential.</p>
<p>Cancer may take a significant physical and emotional toll, but rehabilitation helps survivors regain what the disease has threatened to take away. True recovery is not defined simply by being cancer-free. It is measured by the ability to live fully, move confidently, reconnect with loved ones, pursue meaningful goals, and embrace life beyond cancer.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div><strong>New Delhi, 07th July’26:</strong> Ayurvedic health and wellness brand Ayuvya has completed a multi-centre clinical study on its flagship weight-gain formulations AYUVYA i-Gain+ Tablets and AYUVYA Lets Gain Powder, marking a significant step in strengthening scientific validation for Ayurvedic wellness products while drawing attention to a health challenge that has long remained overshadowed by the global focus on obesity.</div>

<p dir="ltr">The announcement comes months after Ayuvya&#8217;s appearance on Shark Tank India Season 5, where the brand impressed the Sharks with its ₹51.5 crore revenue in FY25 and strong presence across Tier-3 and Tier-4 India. While appreciating the company&#8217;s growth, the Sharks questioned the lack of clinical validation behind its formulations, with Kunal Bahl remarking, &#8220;Pehle vishwas banao&#8221; (Build trust first). The feedback prompted the company to invest in registered clinical research to strengthen the scientific evidence supporting its products.</p>
<p dir="ltr">The study also addresses a much larger gap in the healthcare conversation. According to the National Family Health Survey (NFHS-5), nearly 18.7% of women and 16.2% of men aged 15-49 in India have a Body Mass Index (BMI) below 18.5, classifying them as underweight. Globally, research published in The Lancet estimates that more than 390 million adults are underweight, with India accounting for one of the world&#8217;s largest underweight populations. Despite these numbers, healthy weight gain remains a relatively under-researched area, with limited clinical evidence supporting interventions specifically designed for this population.</p>
<p dir="ltr">Against this backdrop, Ayuvya&#8217;s clinical study, registered with the Clinical Trials Registry-India (CTRI/2026/02/103541) under the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), enrolled 110 adults aged 18 to 35 years with poor appetite and a BMI below 20 across two clinical sites in Bengaluru. Conducted over 45 days, the open-label, single-arm study evaluated changes in appetite, body weight, BMI, nutritional status, gastrointestinal comfort, quality of life, and safety parameters, including liver function. A total of 106 participants (96.4%) completed the study.</p>
<p dir="ltr">According to Ms. Astha Jain, Co-Founder of Ayuvya, &#8220;When we appeared on Shark Tank India, the Sharks challenged us to build stronger scientific credibility for our products, and we believed that was fair feedback.  At the same time, we realised there is another conversation that deserves more attention. While obesity has dominated public discourse for decades, millions of people continue to struggle with being underweight, poor appetite, and healthy weight gain. We wanted to respond to both challenges by investing in clinical research that strengthens trust while contributing evidence to an often-overlooked area of health. According to the investigators, participants using the combination of AYUVYA i-Gain+ Tablets and AYUVYA Lets Gain Powder demonstrated improvements in appetite, body weight, BMI, nutritional status, gastrointestinal health, and overall quality of life while maintaining a favourable safety and tolerability profile throughout the study period. The study reported up to a 5.90% improvement in body weight and up to a 7.47% improvement in BMI.</p>
<p dir="ltr">The company aims to provide clinical validation for every major Ayuvya product, reinforcing its commitment to scientific research and evidence-based Ayurvedic formulations. Through this approach, it seeks to build consumer trust and establish Ayuvya as a household name synonymous with clinically backed wellness solutions.</p>
