Bolani Ores Mines of Odisha Group of Mines, SAIL–RSP, excels in  Safety competitions

Bolani Ores Mines (BOM), under the Odisha Group of Mines (OGoM) of SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP), delivered an impressive performance during the 42nd Annual Mines Safety Week Celebrations–2024, held for the Bhubaneswar Regions under the aegis of the Directorate General of Mines Safety (DGMS).

The Final Day Celebration of the Safety Week for both Bhubaneswar Region 1 and Region 2 was held on 13th July 2025 at Rungta Town Hall, Barbil, and was hosted by Arcelor Mittal Nippon Steel India. BOM marked its presence at the event by setting up an informative and engaging stall.

It is noteworthy that earlier the Zonal Safety Day Celebrations of the Annual Mines Safety Week–2024 were held on 17th November 2024 at Joda East of M/s Tata Steel. Participating under the top A1 Category of Mines, BOM took part in various inspections, competitions, and awareness campaigns and garnered multiple accolades for its outstanding safety practices and employee engagement.

The awards won by BOM included 1st Prize in Publicity & Propaganda, 1st Prize in Explosive Handling, 1st Prize in Occupational Health Centre, 2nd Prize in First Aid Competition, 2nd Prize in Quiz Competition, Longest Accident-Free Worker (Departmental/Contractual), Best Woman Employee, Best Member from Pit Safety Committee, and 1st Prize in Operator Trade Test – Drill Operation.
