“Big leaps are not possible without small, consistent steps, and consistency is the key to sustained success,” said Mr. Alok Verma, Director In-Charge RSP during his visit to the Sheet Shearing Line (SSL) unit of the Hot Strip Mill-2 (HSM-2) on 13th August, 2025 to congratulate the collective on setting new production record. “I am proud of the team for creating this record. We must take up targets every day and strive to achieve them. Sheet Shearing Line holds a great opportunity to create revenue for RSP,” he added.

Present on the occasion were Mr. Tarun Misra, ED (HR), Mr. Anil Kumar, ED (MM), Mr. M P Singh, ED (Mines), Mr. S Pal Choudhury, ED (Projects), Mr. Atish Sarkar, CGM In-Charge (Services) and Acting ED Works along with many other CGMs, HoDs and senior officers of the plant.

Notably, the SSL has set a new single day production record on 11th August, 2025 by shearing 53 Coils, thereby producing 1400 tons HR Plates. The earlier best single day rolling was of 1348 tons HR plates recorded on 10th Feb, 2025. On the same day, the unit also registered its best-ever shift production in the ‘C’ shift by rolling 20 coils to produce 575 tons of HR plates, improving upon the previous best of 556 tons achieved in the ‘B’ shift on 12th Feb 2025.

The Director In-Charge presented sweets and bouquets along with books to the executives of SSL and HSM-II. All the EDs also joined the DIC in congratulating the HSM-II collective.

Mr. Subrat Kumar, CGM (HSM & Aux) expressed gratitude to the top management and all the associated units like PP&C, RCL, T &RM, Centralised Mechanical and Electrical teams, Shops Mechanical, and C&IT for their consistent support in creating the record.
