NEW DELHI. Shri Manohar Lal Khattar, Union Minister of Power and Housing & Urban Affairs, formally released the BEE@25 logo to mark the entry of the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) into its 25th year. The logo represents BEE’s continued commitment to making energy efficiency a national priority. During the event held in New Delhi, the Minister also unveiled the RCO Portal to strengthen monitoring, ensure compliance, and improve coordination among stakeholders under various energy efficiency programmes. Additionally, he launched the BEE Star Label Mobile Application, enabling consumers to scan QR codes on star-rated appliances to access authentic information on energy performance and compliance status.
Addressing the gathering, Shri Pankaj Agarwal, Secretary (Power), described energy efficiency as India’s “First Fuel” and a crucial tool for ensuring energy security and affordability amid rising demand and growing non-fossil capacity. The Minister highlighted BEE’s initiatives in cooling efficiency, industrial decarbonisation through the Carbon Market and ADEETIE scheme, energy efficiency hubs, and transport fuel efficiency improvements. The celebration reaffirmed BEE’s resolve to drive sustainable growth, national energy security, and environmental responsibility toward a Viksit and Atmanirbhar Bharat.
