Bengaluru, 08th December 2025: Bank of Baroda, one of India’s leading public sector banks, inaugurated its new Zonal Office premises in Guwahati, which will cover the entire North Eastern States with the Bank’s endeavor to strengthen its presence across the region and enhance administrative efficiency. This step aligns with the Bank’s broader strategy to expand physical infrastructure alongside its digital initiatives.
The new Zonal Office was inaugurated by Dr. Debadatta Chand, Managing Director & CEO, Bank of Baroda in the presence of Smt. Beena Vaheed, Executive Director, Bank of Baroda and Shri Shiba Pada Nayak, Zonal Head, North East States, Bank of Baroda, along with other senior officials of the Bank.
Speaking on the occasion of inauguration, Dr. Debadatta Chand, Managing Director & CEO, Bank of Baroda said, “North East India holds strategic and cultural significance for the nation. At Bank of Baroda, we are committed to deepening our engagement here, expanding our footprint to enable inclusive growth and meaningful development that benefits every community across the region.”
Smt. Beena Vaheed, Executive Director, Bank of Baroda added, “With the inauguration of this new Zone, Bank of Baroda is poised to enhance operational agility and governance in the North East, ensuring that our services are more accessible, efficient, and tailored to the unique needs of this vibrant region.”
The event also highlighted the Bank’s social commitment, with contributions of clothes, food items, and essentials to special children at Kalyanai Niwas and Ashneer Home in Guwahati, fostering inclusion and support for differently-abled individuals.
1486 Bank of Baroda staff members are serving the people of North East states through a network of 197 branches, 03 regional offices spread across the states with around 61% of these branches located in rural and semi urban areas.
With this strategic initiative, Bank of Baroda reiterates its commitment to foster regional prosperity, enhancing financial inclusion, and driving sustainable growth across the North East states, thereby contributing to the nation’s holistic development.
