An awareness programme on “Women’s Health and Hygiene,” was conducted on 25th October at OHS Centre of SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant. Dr. Pratibha Sarangi, Additional CMO (M&HS) was the Guest Speaker of the program. Present on the occasion were Dr. Surendra Kumar, Deputy CMO, other Doctors, employees and staff of OHSC. In all 31 women employees from across the different unit of the plant took park in the programme.
Speaking on the occasion Dr. Sarangi highlighted the importance of women’s health in the context of multiple roles played by working ladies. Her presentations included topics on Menstrual Health and Hygiene, Nutrition during pregnancy, lactation and menopause and Post Menausal Care. She urged all to take proactive steps for better health and well being to lead a fruitful and meaningful life. The technical session was followed by open house discussion where the participants took part enthusiastically clarifying doubts and seeking solutions.
Dr. Surendra Kumar, welcomed the participants, and highlighted the OHSC activities while Mr. K C Pradhan, Occupational Hygiene Technician (OHSC) coordinated the event.
