Bengaluru, 25 June 2025: Ambuja Cements, the cement and building material company of the diversified Adani Portfolio, has empowered farmers like Umesh Chandrawanshi from Khandala village, near Chandrapur to transform his agricultural journey by introducing sustainable vegetable farming techniques as part of its CSR initiatives.

By adopting drip irrigation, mulching, and organic pest control methods guided by Ambuja Cements’ CSR arm and training provided by Better Cotton, cultivated eggplant on 1.25 acres of land, optimising both input and output.

With an investment of ₹45,000, Umesh harvested 9,500 kg of brinjal and earned a profit of ₹1.26 lakh, proving the profitability of modern farming practices. His use of eco-friendly solutions like sticky traps and Jeevamrut not only reduced expenses but also ensured healthier, chemical-free produce.

This success has inspired other farmers in the region to pursue similar techniques. Ambuja Cements continues to facilitate knowledge sharing and practical innovation in agriculture, enabling rural communities to become more self-reliant and prosperous through smart farming.
