Mr. Alok Verma, Director In-Charge (DIC) of SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) along with Mr. Tarun Misra, ED (HR) visited Jalda ‘C’ Block to take stock of the ongoing CSR activities in the area. Present with him were Ms. Munmun Mittra, GM In-Charge (CSR), Mr. Bivabasu Malik, GM (CSR) and other senior officers of the plant. Mr. Ignes Khadia and Mr. Jattru Oram, representatives of Jalda Gram Panchayat, briefed the DIC about the various village development activities being undertaken.

During the visit, the DIC reviewed the drinking water facilities being provided to the residents of the resettlement colony and assessed their effectiveness in improving the quality of life for the local community. The DIC also visited the Training-cum-Production Centre (TCPC) at Jalda, established under the CSR initiative of RSP in association with Usha Silai and Gram Utthan. He interacted with the women working at the centre, appreciated their efforts in skill development and livelihood generation, and assured all possible support for the continued success of such initiatives. Thereafter he visited the Jalda football ground to encourage sports and youth engagement in the region.
The visit reaffirmed RSP’s commitment towards community welfare and sustainable development in the peripheral areas.
