The development work of the Terminal Building is in its final stage as 94% of the work has been completed. The awarded cost of project is Rs.138.48 cr. The extension of the apron and construction of a parallel taxi track is nearly 72% complete. The awarded cost of this work is Rs 63.13 Crore.
Construction of the canopy in front of the terminal building is also in progress at an awarded cost of Rs.15.57 cr. Post upgradation, the terminal building will have a peak hour capacity of 1800 passengers, five aerobridges and 5 baggage carousels and many more enhanced passenger facilities.
The Airports Authority of India launched its AVSAR scheme recently focuses on encouraging the talent of women, artisans and craftsmen. Under this salient initiative, AAI’s Belagavi airport recently witnessed the inauguration of its 13th SHG stall. At BelagaviAirport, the stall has been allotted to M/s Kalavati Bhagyalaxmi Shree Shakti Self-Help Group. The stall was inaugurated by Airport Director in the presence of various officials from SHG, AAI and other agencies.
