NEW DELHI. The Airports Authority of India (AAI) has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Bharat Taxi, operated by Sahakar Taxi Cooperative Ltd., to introduce passenger-friendly taxi services at select airports nationwide. The MoU was exchanged by Sh. Vipin Kumar, Chairman of AAI, emphasizing the commitment to providing inclusive and efficient last-mile connectivity for air travelers. Bharat Taxi, which is promoted by the National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC) and supported by leading cooperative institutions, operates on a driver-owned cooperative model that guarantees transparent pricing without surge charges, ensuring fair and consistent fares for passengers.
This initiative aligns with India’s broader goals of Atmanirbhar Bharat, Sahakar se Samriddhi, and Viksit Bharat 2047, promoting cooperative entrepreneurship and sustainable transportation solutions. Under the proposed plan, Bharat Taxi services are expected to start at various airports including Rajkot, Vadodara, Surat, Bhuj, Pune, Aurangabad, Varanasi, Kanpur, Prayagraj, and Agra, significantly improving last-mile connectivity and passenger convenience across these regions.
