NEW DELHI. The Delhi government has received 5,678 applications for incentives under the Delhi Electric Vehicle Policy 2026 since its implementation on July 1, with 1,664 applications processed and Rs 4.8 crore disbursed so far, officials said. Two-wheelers accounted for 1,648 of the processed applications, receiving Rs 4.6 crore, while the remaining 4,014 applications are under process. Of the total applications, 5,621 are for two-wheelers, which are eligible for incentives of up to Rs 30,000 in the first year, Rs 20,000 in the second year and Rs 10,000 in the third year. The policy also provides a scrapping incentive of Rs 1 lakh for eligible BS-IV or older cars and Rs 10,000 for eligible BS-IV or older two-wheelers purchased with a new EV; 41 new EV buyers have so far received scrapping incentives. The Delhi Electric Vehicle Policy 2026 portal was launched by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on July 3 to facilitate applications.
