SINGRAULI: Northern Coalfields Limited (NCL), a Singrauli-based subsidiary of Coal India Limited, has launched Phase 2 of its flagship CSR initiative, ‘Nanha Sa Dil–NCL’, signing an MoU with the Sri Sathya Sai Health and Education Trust to provide free pediatric cardiac screening, diagnosis, and surgeries for children from underprivileged families. Backed by a project outlay of ₹9.17 crore over 24 months, the programme aims to screen 52,500 children across 700 camps and perform 500 cardiac surgeries across Singrauli, Sidhi, and Rewa in Madhya Pradesh, as well as Sonbhadra and Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh. Building on Phase 1, which surpassed its target by screening over 38,000 children and enabling 300 surgeries, NCL continues to cover complete end-to-end support including travel, accommodation, surgical interventions, and post-treatment care.
