Prasanna Kumar Acharya recommended CMD NLC India

NEW DELHI. The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) has recommended Shri Prasanna Kumar Acharya, currently serving as Director (Finance) at NLC India Limited, for the post of Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of the company. Acharya was among seven candidates interviewed by the PESB selection panel for the top position. The other candidates included senior executives from NLC India Limited and Dr. Pudi Hariprasad, Financial Adviser and Chief Accounts Officer and Principal Financial Advisor in the Ministry of Railways. Following the PESB recommendation, the proposal will now be placed before the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) for final approval. Upon clearance, Acharya will formally assume charge as CMD of NLC India Limited.

A seasoned finance professional, Shri Prasanna Kumar Acharya brings over 28 years of experience across Central and State government organisations as well as the private sector. He is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India and an Associate Member of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India. His academic qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (Honours) from Utkal University, an LLB from M.S. Law College, Cuttack, a Master’s degree in Commerce from Ravenshaw University, and an MBA. His extensive experience in finance, corporate affairs and organisational management positions him to take on a key leadership role at one of India’s major public sector energy enterprises.
