Various offices and departments of SAIL’s Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) organised Rajbhasha pledge-taking ceremonies to mark the nationwide celebrations of Hindi Diwas (Rajbhasha Diwas). Notably, the day September 14 is observed as Hindi Divas to promote the use of Hindi in official work and daily life commemorates the adoption of Hindi in Devanagari script as the official language of the Union by the Constituent Assembly on this day in the year 1949, under Article 343(1) of the Constitution.
The main function was held at the DIC office, where Mr. Alok Verma, DIC, RSP along with other officers and employees took the pledge. Similar pledge taking ceremonies were also organised in the Offices of the Executive Directors, CGMs and Hods along with other officers and employees, reaffirmed their commitment to promoting Hindi in official correspondence and documentation.
