RAMGARH (Jharkhand): Patratu Super Thermal Power Project organised four workshops on “CDA Rules & Conflict of Interest: Managing Integrity, Discipline and Fairness at the Workplace” on September 3 and 5, 2026, as part of Vigilance Awareness Week 2026. The workshops were conducted by Shri A. N. Verma, former Executive Director (HR), NTPC, and inaugurated by Shri Ashok Kumar Sehgal, Chief Executive Officer, PVUNL, in the presence of the senior management team. Addressing the participants, Shri Sehgal underlined that CDA Rules and Conflict of Interest are not merely regulatory or disciplinary matters but are integral to good governance, ethical leadership and organisational integrity. He stressed that ethics is a fundamental pillar of building strong and trusted organisations and urged participants to translate the learnings into responsible decision-making.
The interactive sessions went beyond conventional lectures, incorporating real-life case studies, group discussions and experiential learning to address critical workplace issues, including distinguishing honest mistakes from misconduct, identifying and managing conflicts of interest, ensuring fairness in disciplinary processes, and understanding the role of ethics, transparency and accountability in organisational performance. The workshops highlighted that CDA Rules should not be viewed merely as a “punishment system”, but as an important instrument of organisational governance that helps prevent misconduct, promote fairness, protect institutional credibility and strengthen trust.
The discussions also emphasised that a conflict of interest does not necessarily constitute wrongdoing; rather, it is unmanaged conflict that poses a significant organisational risk. Proactive identification, disclosure and appropriate management of such situations can foster greater transparency and ethical decision-making. The initiative reinforced PVUNL’s commitment to strengthening a culture of integrity, fairness, accountability and trust across the organisation. Shri Ziaur Rehman, HOHR, and Shri Amar Dayal Singh, Head–EDC, were also present during the workshops.
