DVC Advances 800 MW Supercritical Thermal Power Expansion at Durgapur

DVC 800 MW Supercritical Thermal Power Project

KOLKATA. Damodar Valley Corporation is advancing its strategic energy roadmap with the proposed installation of an 800 MW Ultra Supercritical Thermal Power Unit at the site of the decommissioned Durgapur Thermal Power Station in West Bengal. Set up within the corporation’s existing land footprint, the modern power station utilizes high-efficiency supercritical technology to significantly boost base-load generation efficiency while minimizing environmental impact. The flagship expansion project is structured to meet escalating industrial and regional power requirements across Eastern India, creating high-value employment avenues, strengthening grid resilience, and stimulating broader economic activity throughout nearby industrial communities.
