BILASPUR: South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL) has been conferred with the “Integrated Industrial Water Management & Stewardship Award” at the Water Digest Awards 2026 for its contribution to water conservation and industrial water management. The award was presented on March 23, 2026, in New Delhi by Union Minister of State for Jal Shakti, Shri Raj Bhushan Choudhary, and was received by CMD Shri Harish Duhan and Director (Technical/Planning & Projects) Shri Ramesh Chandra Mahapatra.
The recognition highlights SECL’s innovative mine water utilisation initiatives, which channelise discharged mine water to address local water scarcity and support irrigation for farmers. The initiative has improved water availability in nearby rural areas, enabled multiple cropping cycles, and contributed to sustainable resource management and enhanced livelihoods.
