NEW DELHI. The Ministry of MSME has officially upgraded the National Small Industries Corporation Ltd (NSIC) from a Schedule B to a Schedule A category Central Public Sector Enterprise, marking a significant milestone in its seven-decade history of empowering India’s small businesses. This elevation recognizes NSIC’s vital role in the nation-building process, where it has consistently strengthened the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector through strategic interventions in skilling, capacity building, and credit facilitation. By providing essential marketing support and growth capital through equity investments, NSIC has enhanced the cost competitiveness of domestic industries while serving as a key implementation partner for the Government of India’s most aspirational development programs.
