NEW DELHI. l India Limited (OIL) and TotalEnergies have signed a Technology Service Agreement to enhance strategic collaboration in exploration activities across deep and ultra-deepwater offshore frontiers of Indian sedimentary basins. The agreement, signed in the presence of Shri Pankaj Jain, Secretary, Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, and senior officials, aims to leverage TotalEnergies’ expertise in deepwater exploration for OIL’s current and future offshore projects. It covers ongoing appraisal of a gas discovery in the Andaman Basin, exploration in OIL’s OALP-IX ultra-deepwater blocks in the Mahanadi and Krishna-Godavari Basins, and evaluation of opportunities in upcoming bid rounds, including stratigraphic well drilling in offshore Category-II and III basins. This strategic partnership signifies a major milestone in OIL’s pursuit of offshore exploration, reinforcing its commitment to hydrocarbon discovery and securing India’s sustainable energy future.
