The state-of-the-art Hot Strip Mill–2 (HSM-2) of SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) has set a new record 7th September, 2025 by registering its highest-ever daily production in terms of coil weight.
The unit rolled 416 coils weighing 9444 tonnes of coils, surpassing the previous best of 9430 tonnes achieved on 24th March, 2025. The achievement was made possible through seamless coordination and dedicated efforts of the HSM-2 collective along with the support of several key departments including PPC, EMD, C&IT, Refractories, Centralised Electrical, Centralised Mechanical, Design, Traffic & Raw Materials, Power Distribution, RCL, Roll Shop, Materials Management and Instrumentation & Automation.
Congratulating the team, Mr. Alok Verma, Director In-Charge, RSP with additional charge of Bokaro Steel Plant, lauded the mill collective and associated departments for their superb performance and encouraged them to sustain the momentum to scale even greater heights in the future.
