In the grand Samman Samaroh organized by Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) at the Civic Centre on the eve of 79th Independence Day of the country, 20 former employees, who had joined the Steel Plant in between 1957-1961and contributed in laying a sturdy foundation of RSP were felicitated with the “Ispat Bindhani Samman-2025’. These stalwarts, who planted the seeds of steel in the wild hilly soil of Rourkela in the early 1960s, have seen their efforts flourish into a monumental success, providing sustenance to millions and contributing significantly to the nation’s progress. Mr. Alok Verma, Director In-charge, RSP felicitated the members of the Team RSP that had sculpted the Shilpa Konark of Odisha.
The felicitated individuals were Mr. Suresh Ch. Gupta, Mr. Kishore Ch.Mishra, Mr. Hari Krushna Padhy, Mr. Keshab Ch Nayak, Mr. Bhagwan Goud, Mr. B B Sahoo, Mr. Niranjan Padhi, Mr. Judhistir Balabantaray, Mr. S N Mahakul, Mr. Nabakishore Panda, Mr. K C Khuntia, Mr. Kesab Chandra Sahu, Mr. Prasanna Kumar padhi, Mr. S N Praharaj, Mr. Gagan Bihari Nayak, Mr. G N Behera, Mr. Bholanath Mishra, Mr. Baikuntha Nath Samal, Mr. G S Mishra, and Mr. Santosh Kuamar Rath.
Highlighting the contributions of the Ispat Bindhanis, Mr. Verma said, “The RSP we see today, standing tall in all its glory and grandeur, is the result of the hard work, dedication, and commitment of our elder generations. The legacy of their achievements will continue to inspire and guide Rourkela Steel Plant in the years to come.”
Honouring the unwavering spirit of the veterans who built Rourkela Steel Plant has made the independence day a special one.
