MUMBAI. In a significant step toward promoting inclusive education and women’s welfare, Coal India Limited (CIL) has supported the construction of Women’s Hostel 21 at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative.The five-storey residential facility, inaugurated recently, houses 280 rooms and can accommodate up to 370 women scholars.
Designed to offer a safe, inclusive, and enabling environment, the hostel represents CIL’s commitment to empowering women in higher education and addressing the growing need for quality student accommodation.
Dr. Vinay Ranjan, Director (HR) of Coal India, along with senior officials, graced the inaugural ceremony, reaffirming the company’s dedication to fostering equitable opportunities through strategic social investments.
