Sh R.K. Chaudhary, CMD, NHPC addressed the prestigious ‘Economic Times India Net Zero Forum 2025’ at New Delhi on 18th June 2025. In his address, CMD, NHPC stressed that development and sustainability, growth and responsibility must be balanced and said that achieving net zero is not just about reducing emissions but also reimagining our energy systems, industries, cities and lifestyles for a greener tomorrow. He also said that implementation of hydro projects and pumped storage projects are proven source of increase of forest cover in the form of Catchment Area Treatment and Compensatory Afforestation and therefore help in decarbonization of the carbon capture.
