NTPC Awareness program for Ash ushers 

NTPC Bongaigaon, with the support of the District Administration, successfully organized an Awareness Program for Ash Users on effective ash utilization on March 6, 2025.

The event brought together prospective stakeholders from Kokrajhar and the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) to explore sustainable practices and innovative solutions in ash management.

Smt. Masanda M Pertin, IAS, District Commissioner, appreciated NTPC Bongaigaon’s efforts in promoting eco-friendly solutions and urged stakeholders to adopt these practices for a greener future.

In his address, Shri Arnab Maitra, Head of Project, NTPC Bongaigaon, shared insights on NTPC’s initiatives in ash utilization and the need for collaborative efforts to maximize its potential. He highlighted the achievements of NTPC Bongaigaon in achieving substantial ash utilization and encouraged stakeholders to explore new applications of ash products in construction and infrastructure development.

The program commenced with a address by Shri Debabrata Kar, General Manager (O&M), who highlighted the significance of ash utilization in minimizing environmental impact and transforming waste into valuable resources. Shri Asutosh Biswas, GM (O&M), further elaborated on the operational aspects and the advancements made in ash management at NTPC Bongaigaon.

The session witnessed the participation of senior officials, including Shri Paresh Mathur, AGM (TS), Shri R V Singh, AGM (Ash Utilization Department), and Shri Onkar Nath, AGM (HR), along with officials from the Ash Utilization Team.

A comprehensive presentation by the Ash Utilization Team showcased the various benefits of ash and its diverse applications in the construction sector. The presentation emphasized the strength, durability, and eco-friendly characteristics of ash-based products, making them a viable alternative for conventional materials.

The interactive session provided a platform for stakeholders to share their views and seek clarifications. Various queries related to the technical aspects, benefits, and cost-effectiveness of ash products were addressed by the experts. The discussions also focused on the regulatory frameworks, market potential, and logistics for effective ash utilization.
