The Foundation stone for the modification of the ESM Bay into Plant Store-3 of Stores Department of SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP), was laid by Mr. Atanu Bhowmick, Director In-Charge, RSP on 16th December 2024. Mr. Tarun Misra, ED (HR), Mr. A K Behuria, ED (F&A), Mr. Sudip Pal Chowdhury, ED (Projects), Mr. Anil Kumar, ED (MM) and many CGMs, HoDs, and other senior officers were present on the occasion.
It may be noted that, the modification of the ESM Bay into Plant Store-3 will provide a significant boost to the department’s capabilities. These projects aim at facilitating efficient storage, better resource utilization, and enhanced coordination with other departments. In the coming weeks, the Stores collective plans to engage actively with indenting departments to maximize the utilization of non-moving inventory, further emphasizing its commitment to operational efficiency and resource optimization.
The foundation stone-laying ceremony for the ESM Bay was a momentous occasion for the department, as it would pave the way for addressing the longstanding need for additional storage space. The commencement of the ESM shed project highlights the department’s commitment to meeting operational demands and preparing for future challenges.
