The Blast Furnace-1 (BF-1) ‘Parvati’ of SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) produced 3625 tons of Hot Metal on 25th October, 2024 to register the highest ever single day production record. The previous best single day production of 3610 tons was achieved on 27th March, 2021. The furnace also recorded the best BF productivity of 2.43 tons per cubic meter per day (T/m3/day) on 25th October, 2024 improving upon its earlier best figure of 2.42 T/m3/day clocked on 27th March, 2021.
It is noteworthy that the BF collective has been consistently striving to optimize production and further improve techno-economics in line with the broad strategy of reducing cost of production and improve margins.
