Fifteen Management Trainees (Technical) Extension Batch for Mines joined the Maharatna Company SAIL in an induction programme held at the Samadhan Conference Hall of ED (HR) Secretariat of Rourkela Steel Plant on 8th October, 2024. Mr. Tarun Misra, ED (HR) with additional Charge of ED (Projects) presided over the inaugural session. Present on the occasion were Several Chief General Managers, HODs and other Senior Officers of the Plant.
Mr. Misra congratulated the new entrants for opting to join the Maharatna Company SAIL and encouraged them to make the best use of the opportunities for their personal as well as the growth of the company. He emphasised upon the scope RSP has to offer with its upcoming state of art projects. He also advised the MTs to be resilient, tough yet flexible as a steel so as to adapt the dynamic business environment.
Ms. Rajashree Banerjee, CGM (HR-L&D) delivered the welcome address while Mr. S K Sukula, Deputy Manager (HR- L&D) coordinated the function.
Thereafter the technical sessions followed in the Learning and Development Department. The Central Induction in Rourkela is slated to conclude on 21st October, during which the main focus would be on mentoring, technical training, and leadership development. However the trainees would be undergoing rigorous training program designed to shape them into capable frontline executives.
During the induction programme at RSP the trainees would be introduced to the numerous benefits available to them in SAIL, including competitive salaries, accommodation, healthcare, access to clubs, quality schools for their children, and ample career growth opportunities. Valuable insights will be provided into SAIL’s vision, rich history, and the future challenges as well as an understanding the company’s operations, from mining to marketing, key products, and customers. Through a blend of classroom sessions, plant visits, and interactive discussions, the program aims to provide a well-rounded developmental experience, equipping the trainees to become future leaders in the steel industry.
