The Government of India has released around ₹37,000 crore under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS), aimed at enhancing the quality and reliability of power supply through a financially sustainable and operationally efficient distribution sector. This amount constitutes about 38% of the scheme’s total sanctioned Gross Budgetary Support. Fund disbursement is strictly linked to DISCOMs achieving specified milestones and fulfilling all requirements outlined in the fund release guidelines. A result evaluation framework, tailored to the action plans of individual States and DISCOMs, has been put in place to assess their performance for timely fund release.
