The Rail SAARTHI (Synergized Advanced Application Rail Travel Help and Information) covers all features including safety of women, complaint facility and suggestion for improvement. This app is an integrated one unlike the other apps launched in the past by Indian Railways. Previously, to avail of varied services users were required to install multiple apps, with the introduction of SAARTHI users will only have to manage one app for all the services. This app will also enable users to book air tickets and give feedback.
With the introduction of this app, Railway minister Suresh Prabhu also announced a quota facility for differently able people in 3AC coach and extended the advance booking period for foreigners to 365 days from the present 120 days. From now onwards, lower berth in a 3AC coach will be reserved for physically challenged people. The middle berth will be occupied by the individual accompanying them.
Suresh Prabhu said, “Presently we have different digital solutions for ticketing, grievance redressal and other issues. We intend to integrate all such facilities into two mobile apps, one dealing with all ticketing issues and the other for receipt and redressal of complaints and suggestions related to all our services.”
