Gurugram: School of Law, the NorthCap University in collaboration with the Indian Bar Association organized a ‘National Conference on Criminal Justice Administration in India: Contemporary Issues & Challenges’ on April 8, 2017. Eminent dignitaries from the legal fraternity such as Justice Vidya Bhushan Gupta, Former Judge, Delhi High Court, Prof. (Dr.) G.S. Bajpai, Registrar, National Law University Delhi, New Delhi and Sh. KTS Tulsi, Senior Advocate, the Supreme Court of India were present during the Inaugural Ceremony to grace the occasion. More than 100 participants were present at the conference. Students, faculties and professionals from various law universities and colleges including Jamia Milia Islamia, Symbiosis, Amity university, National Law University, Assam were present.

Research and innovation crucial for enhancing Haryana’s educational standards

Gurgaon,:  Over 50 academicians and educationists from government and private schools came together to deliberate upon ways to bring innovation to improve the education system in Haryana. The seminar held under the auspices of Starex University raised concerns over not even a single educational institution in Haryana figuring in The National Institutional Ranking Framework rankings recently released by Ministry of Human Resource Development.


The NorthCap University conducts workshop on ‘Depression, Let’s talk’ on World Health Day

Gurugram: On the occasion of World Health Day, The NorthCap University organized a talk on 'depression' in the university premises. It was conducted by Dr. Shweta Sharma, Psychologist, Columbia Asia Hospital. The aim was to define depression, risk factors, treatment options, self help, coping skills and how to help someone with depression.

Dr. Shweta Sharma, Psychologist, Columbia Asia Hospital said, “The most common problems in the present scenario are related to career options and relationship issues. It is very important to help yourself and then help others. Nowadays children are hesitant to discuss things with professionals so one of the most easy ways to tackle any depression issue is being a friend for a friend.”


YGLP application opens for South Asian students from April 10

New Delhi: Application for YGLP Asia 2017-18 will open for eligible students from South Asian countries from April 10, 2017, Monday. Only eligible students from qualified institutes from South Asia should apply.

Seven Indian cities – Mumbai, Bangalore, Delhi, Hyderabad, Chennai, Kolkata and Ahmadabad have been selected as host cities from South Asia.

A total 800 schools and 500 institutes of higher learning from 44 Asian countries have qualified for YGLP ASIA 2017-18.

YGLP is world’s first of its kind international leadership program for young people aged 13 to 25 years. Developed by Human Science Lab, London, the program aims to nurture young people into future global leaders.

YGLP is an outcome of world-leading research on leadership and human excellence at the Human Science Lab with support from a consortium of transnational organisations and foundations. It is part of the Global Critical Thinking Project of Human Science Lab, London.

The Human Science Lab (HSL) is a global centre for world-leading research on evolutionary, biological and behavioural aspect of human species with a view to enrich human life. It is located in London and Oxfordshire and is best known for its pioneering research on Human Cognition, Critical Thinking, Intelligence, Leadership and Well-being.

YGLP was first launched at University of Oxford in January 2016. It was subsequently launched at University of Cambridge, Stanford University, LSE and several other Ivy League and Russell Group universities.

YGLP is administered in 44 countries and 2 SARs of the Asian continent as YGLP ASIA by the Asia Council, Tokyo, in association with Human Science Lab, London, and YGLP Oxford, the Oxford University chapter of YGLP.

The YGLP session 2017-18 will culminate with the YGLP Global Conference at Oxford University attended by YGLP Fellows from YGLP Europe, YGLP Asia, YGLP America, YGLP Oceania and YGLP Africa. A ranking of countries and institutes based on their performance at YGLP will be released at the conference.

Vikramshila University has its own history- President

President Pranab Mukherjee has stressed the need for developing Vikramshila University on the pattern of Nalanda International University.

Addressing a gathering near the excavated site of Vikramshila University in Bhagalpur today, Mr Mukherjee said he would take up the matter with the Prime Minister Narendra Modi in this regard. He said the Centre had already made provision of 500 crore rupees for development of the University.
