PM Modi inaugurates Kiran Multispeciality Hospital in Surat

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated a Multispeciality Hospital at Katargam in Surat this morning. Speaking on the occasion, Prime Minister appreciated the spirit of donors to provide the best health services to the common people. He said, that health and medical services are still costly and difficult for the poor people in remote areas. 

The Prime Minister described the effort devoted towards making the hospital as “commendable”, and added that the state-of-the-art hospital would benefit citizens. He emphasized that the poor must have access to quality and affordable healthcare. In this context he talked about the Union Government’s initiatives to bring down the prices of medicines, stents etc. He said he is committed to providing affordable healthcare for the poor and the middle class. Calling for focus on preventive healthcare, the Prime Minister said that the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan is linked to efforts towards a healthier India. 

The Prime Minister said Surat has made a mark in the diamond industry but there is now need to look at the entire gems and jewellery sector. He said that as far as the gems and jewellery sector is concerned, our aim should not only be ‘Make in India’ but also 'Design in India'.

CEL completes a year as Energy Positive complex

New Delhi:The Central Electronic Ltd Administrative Complex  has completed one year of operation as an Energy Positive Complex with a total generation of 1,76,729 KWH and Consumption of 1,33,185 KWH in this period.

CEL commissioned two high efficiency roof top power plants on its Administrative Complex on 31st January 2016 at Sahibabad in Ghaziabad. The first plant uses IBC (Interdigitated Back Contact) modules and the second is with HIT (Heterogeneous Intrinsic Junction Technology) Modules.

Central Electronics Ltd(CEL) is a PSU under the Department of Scientific & Industrial Research, Ministry of Science & Technology, which has pioneered Solar Photovoltaics  in the  country and has the distinction of having manufactured India’s First Solar Cell in 1977 and India’s First Solar Panel in 1978 and installed India’s first solar power plant in 1992. More recently, CEL developed India’s first indigenous flexible solar panel for use on the Science Express in 2015”.
