Chief Secretary Anshu Prakash slammed AAP, saying that he was allegedly manhandled by two lawmakers of the Aam Aadmi Party at the Chief Minister's residence on Monday.
He further accused the AAP MLAs of assaulting him during a meeting on plans for home-delivery of government services.
As per media reports, Prakash later met Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal and complained to him about the alleged incident.
The Chief Minister's Office, however, denied the allegations, calling them 'bizarre'. “Delhi CM office strongly denies allegations by the Chief Secretary. There was no incident of assault or attempted assault by any AAP MLAs,” News 18 quoted a statement from Kejriwal’s office.
Bureaucrats and the government have been in a constant tussle over who controls the capital. Recently, the lieutenant governor had stalled the govt's plan for doosrstep delivery of 40 govt services. The AAP govt accused the LG of working at the behest of the BJP government at the centre.
