Malaysia to assist Uttarakhand for Infrastructure Development

New Delhi: For the better infrastructure facilities in the state, Malaysia will lend a helping hand to Uttarakhand for which the Malaysian Minister Fadillah Yusof recently had a meeting with CM Trivendra Singh Rawat at Uttarakhand Sadan in Delhi.

During the meeting, both the sides agreed to form a Joint Working Committee (JWC) to prepare strategies for infrastructure development, including metro train and better road network in Uttarakhand. The Malaysian minister promised to offer assistance of a specialized government consultant- Performance Management and Delivery Unit (PEMANDU) to plan a layout for infrastructure development in the state.

The chief minister said, “We need to establish good coordination between the Uttarakhand government, PEMANDU and the Malaysian government. This is a positive initiative, and we are optimistic of a good outcome”.

Both the sides agreed to host the first JWC meeting in Malaysia.
